Wig Wag

Enabling Wig Wag

Going through different social medias I found a very useful document that explain the connection for an upfitted pursuit Dodge Charger : Upfitter Guide

Found some interesting info like this:

Connect 12V to pin 1 & 2 to C2 and the front and rear light with flash!! Well that I must have :-)

On the pursuit there are 3 AUX buttons on the steering wheel.

The simplest way to turn wig wag on and off is by using one of the AUX buttons on the steering wheel. For instance to use AUX1 connect C1 pin 1 to C2 pin 1 and 2.

I dedicated AUX3 for my wig wag.
To avoid accidentally turn on the wig wag I decided to only enable wigwag when car is in park. Pin 6 in connector C2 is a 12V output signal when car is in park. I basically did an AND operation using a relay with AUX3 and Park signal. If both are high then enable wig wag. See wiring diagram below.

Wiring

The diagram is simple but the wiring takes a bit of work.

Dome Light

The pursuit doesn't have interior dome light. Only a bit round light in the ceiling with a manual switch to turn it on/off.
The cool thing is that the dome can produce both white or red light.

As mentioned earlier I wanted the light to turn on when the door is opened. This is not enabled in a pursuit car for some reason.

To do that I found a signal in the right A-pillar that would give a high voltage when door is opened. I also found the power wire to the dome and merged the wires.

The Red/Blue wire is the power to the dome light. The Yellow/Purple is the door ajar signal.

The problem here is that sometimes you need some extra interior light so I did some modification so that Aux1 button on the steering wheel could also turn on the dome light.
Again the diagram is simple but the wiring is a lot harder.

Door is the Yellow/Purple.
Acc is the accessory power I found in one of the connector from the upfitter document.

Center console

So much work to get a functional center console. I wanted all the electrical feature like lights and usb to work properly.

The wiring harness is very different in a purpuit. So hack had to be done. This took many days to figure out what wire is for what.

Found connectors on eBay to get all the wiring done properly so everything works great now.

Rear seat window switch

The switches to control the window on the rear is blocked to be able to roll down. Probably a pursuit feature to prevent who ever sits in the rear can roll down and jump out the window LOL.

The blocker was just a zip tie.
Snip and problem solved.
